A project united by the rivers that run through Galicia, tracing an imaginary line that connects our vineyards and sustains them. A project driven by the ambition to position Galician wine where it truly belongs. Our admiration for this land and everything it gives us fills us with pride—and a sense of gratitude. Méndez-Rojo is our way of giving back, even if only a small part, of what it has always given us.

THE MÉNDEZ-ROJO FAMILY IS THE LEGACY OF A FAMILY TRADITION THAT BEGAN IN 1940
It all began in 1940, when Manuel Méndez and Maruja Otero opened Casa Penouzos in Chantada (Lugo), a wine shop that marked the beginning of a story later continued by Javier Méndez and Ana María Rojo, parents of Juan Luis Méndez Rojo.
In this same spirit—and as a heartfelt tribute to his parents and to his beloved homeland—a project was born bearing their own surnames: Méndez-Rojo. A project that reflects a lifetime of experience and deep knowledge of the sector, offering outstanding Galician wines.
We remain committed to the principles on which our family was founded, and we can think of no better way to honor our parents.
In the very heart of Galicia, where rugged rocks are root, cradle, and shelter—where the land is transformed into wine… that is where our story begins.

Our motivation is to offer high-quality Galician wines that reflect the authenticity of the land. That is why we present wines from each of the five Galician denominations of origin—bringing every corner of this honest and genuine region to anyone who wishes to discover it or relive it through a glass of Galician wine.
We begin with deep respect and admiration for our surroundings, seeking to pay tribute to the land and to our people. The only project with wines from all five Galician denominations of origin. Committed to nature, to our roots, and to sustainability—striving to do things in the best possible way, always with care and respect for the land and all that it gives us.
